Delicious, authentic flavor, generous fillings! I found their stand at the Sunday Mueller Farmers market, and I got on Peruvian Aji de Gallina empanada. It was very tasty, and I will definitely try more flavors in the future.

We bike to the SFC (Sustainable Food Center) Farmer’s Market in downtown Austin on Saturdays, and we are sure to stop at the YAPA booth. I’ve tried the Conquistadora (Chilean), Peruvian Chhicken, and Smoked bacon, egg & cheese. I love them all, but the Peruvian Chicken is my favorite so far. I am sure to go back and try the rest. Two are more than enough for a meal. We usually buy six and Keep them on hand for quick and simple meals during the week. Heat them in the oven for 20 minutes rather than the microwave to keep the crust firm and the points crispy. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos, but they are meticulously prepared. Next time I will bring a small, insulated bag to bring them home. They are reasonably priced at $6 each.

We make a special trip to buy Yapa empanadas at the SFC farmers market in downtown Austin. They are excellent!! Our favorite so far is the Peruvian chicken but we also love the Conquistador. Looking forward to trying the Pastor. Their empanadas are loaded with tasty fillings. The crust is just right so that the fillings don’t seep through. Not greasy at all. The empanadas come with two sauces - chipotle and chimichurri. And they are reasonably priced!

Fabulous place with delicious food and the coolest people behind the counter. I think I’ve tried them all and have a hard time picking my favorite.... but La boracha and the spinach goat cheese are at the top of the list! Super value for the price and I love supporting local. Give ‘em a try!

Ham & Ch w/ Béchamel sauce. La BorrachanBeef stewed in red wine, carrots, and garlic are some of my favorites.nStaff are knowledgeable and friendly, especially Otto.
