Panadería Ahualulco

At first I loved this place but it started going downhill. The sweet bread good. but the pastries look better than they taste. We ordered a special order of buns once and they didn't not have them on time. We tried again a couple months ago and they forgot my whole order. I went to pick up about an hour after they said they would be ready but they hadn't even started it. The lady even asked me if I was sure I ordered with them. I had to pull up the receipt on my phone. When I went to pick my order up it was wrong and obviously rushed. When I spoke to my neighbor she told us the same thing happened to her. Luckily she had called before it was ready to double check and they didn't have her order written down nor started.

I love pan dulce. I love bread in general but especially when it comes from a panadería. These marranitos are especially yummy with a cup of coffee. The other breads I tasted were also well prepared and filled with flavor! This cozy gem of a bakery is nestled in a strip mall so it’s easy to miss but I definitely recommend stopping by for a treat.

The bread is delicious very fresh one of my favorite panaderia. You could try anything and it would be delicious.

Last month I was looking for the best place to get a birthday cake in Irving to celebrate our daughter's 17th birthday and we were debating out of Fiesta, Kroger, Whole Foods and then the luxury brand - Nothing Bundt Cake. During that time, google search showed up this bakery shop, I read the review but could not convince the family to try the cake from them on their 17th birthday. Reviews were nice but they probably did not do the justice with place as I thought it's good for a low budget cake and we ended up not ordering from them. Finally on my wife's birthday last week, she agreed that we would give them a try. The lady who took the order did a very good job in taking the order and payment over phone ( half of the payment needed while placing order for birthday cake).nThough we lived in this area for many years and might have gone to CVS hundreds of times, somehow we never knew about this place as it's kind of hidden on the back side of CVS building. When I reached there to pick up the cake, I found a bakery shop with an unassuming look with someone waiting outside for her turn. Peeped inside and noticed its small place having only one or two people to get inside if you want to maintain social distance. Waited outside for my turn and then soon saw the number of people coming and waiting for their turn growing. That itself was amazing to see these many people waiting in a queue which is not seen at other places. When I went inside, I was amazed to see the variety of cakes and bakery products they had for sale. The strawberry Tres Leches cake which I ordered was looking perfect and very nicely decorated. Everyone found it so delicious that we decided that for next all birthdays we are getting cake from this place only. And we realized, to try them is to love them!!!

First time trying, and the baked goods were amazing. The service was friendly, and not only did the pastries look appetizing, they tasted so. friggin'. good. They had a variety I had a hard time choosing from as everything looked like my next favorite. Definitely a hidden gem in Irving, and one that I'm excited to visit again soon!
