Friendly helpful and knowledgeable. Their selection is small but good quality.
My first experience buying from these guys has been a little frustrating. Some items were missing from my order and, being on the other side of the planet, it’s been a long wait for them to arrive. On the plus side, they were quick to get the missing parts in the mail and are really great with giving advice/help if you run into trouble (and Pete’s youtube videos on how to restring are very helpful). It’s a specialist area and they are definitely experts.
Delightful shop for all sorts of folk instruments. Nationally known among autoharp players for their finely crafted instruments and repair service. They also have some nice instruments on consignment, and I bought a great one this way. The owner, Pete d'Aigle, may greet you at the door.
We were at Wintergrass (& visiting our son & his wife) in February and Pete d’Aigle was there! Had a booth set up, we stopped by, and I bought another autoharp: a D/G diatonic Luthier’s Classic - my 3rd d’Aigle!nnNeeded some tweaking (pickup) and would be ready on the Monday after Wintergrass.nnAs usual his work is impeccable - I have a beautiful instrument. We got a tour of the shop, looked at different instruments he was working on, and looked around his delightful store. Very friendly man, knows what he is doing, a great luthier & a great mind - wonderful man.nnHighly recommend his ‘harps. Highly recommend Wintergrass too - wow, what a weekend.
