I'm from NYC originally. I've been trying to find a bagel that comes close to matching a NY bagel for 20 years! That quest has finally come to an end! Royal bagel has what I've been looking for. The problems are; 1) I live in Alexandria and I have to travel out here to have a decent bagel. Oh well, it's closer than NYC! 2) I just saw a review that featured a mold covered turnover( one of the items I previously purchased from this store) and it turned my stomach as well as my opinion of this store. I won’t be buying those anymore! And I will be very cautious of the bagels I purchase there now.

Best bagels and doughnuts on the planet and more. Make up your mind before they ask for your order because it's a little busy. They like cash. The original owners sold it but the current owner kept the traditions alive. Pastries are decadent.

I can’t believe this restaurant is still in business. If a health inspector were to visit, it would be shut down immediately. None of the staff are enforcing the 6 feet rule. There were too many people standing right next to each other. The staff do not properly wear their masks FULLY covering the nose, they’re only covering the tip of the nose allowing air to bypass the filtering ability of the mask, if you can call what they wear masks. I saw one person wearing gloves and the rest were handling food without gloves. This is not safe. There is no hand sanitizer in sight. Staff are not sanitizing before and after each customer. Not safe. Even if they are all vaccinated, they are still passing on the virus through the air and indirect contact. Did I mention there’s no air purification? They pay absolutely no mind to the protocols Dr. Fauci has explained in great detail. This is not how we flatten the curve.

Bagels, sandwiches, pastries.. best deli around. Very much like you would find in NY. My go to is the tuna salad on a toasted black & white bagel! Gotta hv my Dr Browns soda to go with it!
