I love this bakery! Their baked goods are great. Their honey cake is my favorite. I also really like their croissants. They have a variety of croissants that always hit the spot. The staff also is friendly and welcoming.
The croissants and quiche are good, but the service abysmal. Expect to get charged incorrectly for items, items are often either not ready by opening or gone within an hour. We have been coming here for years. Service used to be great, but in the last 6 months they hired new help, which is totally incompetent. Doesn’t know the names of items, charges incorrect prices, expect to wait even when you are the only one in the store. Otherwise, still some of the best quiche and croissants in the area at a reasonable price.
We called and placed an order for the following day. After we show up the following day they didn’t have the order ready nor any records of the order being placed. Needless to say we were pretty disappointed.nnBesides that, their pastries and deserts are really good, that’s if they have it when you go. Tried a handful of different deserts and they have all been good.nnNot sure when the best time it is to go, but probably not mid day or early afternoon.
So. good. Canales are amazing. Almond croissants can be amazing, but definitely better the earlier you go during the day. Quiche lorraine is very good as well. Can't really go wrong here.
Came in to try their Russian Honey Cake and order it for an event next week and LOVED the slice. It is perfectly sweet and the honey comes through well. The bakery storefront was pretty well stocked for noontime, so I snagged an almond croissant for tomorrow morning and can't wait to try it given how good the cake was. The baker was very helpful and being safe with a mask! Can't wait to have their cakes next week!
