One of the best islands to camp/explore
This was a great hunt after reading about the Harrisburg family history. The island aka Ghost Island is not marked by water nor is the pathway up to the Harrisburg family cemetary. Once you find the trail it's a short walk through the woods, great pieces of history....
Fascinating to know an entire town existed under water now knowm as lake Hartwell. But a cemetery is certainly hard hitting truth. Historical as well with some buried having been high military officers in wars.
It took a while walking around the island to finally find the graveyard, but it was a nice way to kill a couple of hours
My fifth great grandfather, Charles Perry Bruce (1753 - 1843) is buried on Cemetery Island.
