The Westin Monache Resort, Mammoth

It’s a pretty nice hotel and great location. Dog friendly, nice parking garage. Has a small gym, hot tub and pool which are nice, but no towels provided at the pool/gym. Service is lacking, restaurant was pretty bad. These are privately owned condos, you can rent from Westin and pay their fees or you can go on Airbnb and rent directly from the owner. Renting directly was much cheaper, am very satisfied with the room.

Great place. Wonderful people. Great service. Nice room. Underground parking. Those prices though, yikes!

Lexi, the front office manager made my birthday celebration my honoring my Titanium Status and sending me a birthday amenity. Thank you Westin and thank you Lexi!

Well, the Westin just disappointed me. We have been here for 2 nights and it's our last night here and I called the front desk to ask for plastic cups. The guy who is working at concierge said no that we can go to Vons to get plastic cups and hung up on us. I then called again and a women concierge answered and she said yes plastic cups will be delivered to the room and I said thank you. Next thing you know we get six dirty mugs. This is especially unacceptable during COVID. The mugs looked liked it had coffee stains and spit in them. We took the elevator down to the main lobby and a video of the experience we had down in the front lobby was taken by my brother. We also had dirty sheets in the roll out sofa bed. I had high expectations for this hotel for being such a major name.

I understand this is Mammoth but the service here is horrible.nnI’m suffering from altitude sickness so I’ve been trying to drink as much water as possible. When I called to get water bottles to take on our skii trip they refused to give me more than 2 mini bottles..... They even argued and said to drink the tap. We were going out of the hotel and needed water to take. We offered to pay and even so they would only sell us 2 bottles. I’m almost positive they can get into major legal trouble for this. They are literally denying a basic right, to drink water.nnOn top of that if you ask for anything they literally moan about it and hang up the phone on you! We asked for extra glasses in our room and the gentleman seemed very upset that we asked?nnThe only staff that have exemplary service standards are renne and some of the valet.nnI hope the GM sees this and address the issues with the team and the issue with restricting water. I understand it’s a Marriott standard for an eco initiative, but you cannot limit a paying guest water!! I mean come on. Unacceptable.
