Requiescent Float Center Stuyvesant Plaza

So this is not my first float, but first at this location. Let me start with the immediate smell of mold in the tank. Luckily after breathing through my mouth for a while, the smell somewhat dissipated. Unfortunately, I kept thinking about the mold smell throughout the float, and genuinely could not relax. The changing room/shower could also use some freshening up. The toiletries in the shower had no labels, and the room was drafty. I wanted to love it and be relaxed, but now all I can think about was bathing in that moldy salt bath. Also, after looking back at past reviews, I know I’m not the only one. It’s only 2 rooms, so whoever owns this establishment should give it a little love and attention.

My first time floating ever and I loved it! The staff is very informative when u arrive, the water is warm, and they provide u with earplugs, towels, soap, etc. ud83dudc4dnnMy muscles came out tender and it was great to think about absolutely nothing for a while. I almost fell asleep I was so relaxed lol.nnThanks, I will definitely be back!

Ive been wanting to try floating forever now! Requiscent was super kind + accommodating and did an amazing job of explaining everything for my first float. The room was clean and perfectly cohesive to relaxation. I definitely recommend giving it a shot if this is something you're interested in. I know ill be back!!!

I did my first float here last month in the room to the right. I wanted to do it because I was looking for the magnesium health benefits (the water is rich in magnesium and the body best absorbs magnesium through the skin).nnEric was very courteous and showed me what to do on arrival. He made 2 suggestions (to put the earplugs on when you’re still dry and to avoid touching your face) and I wish I remembered to listen to them.nnThe experience started off very relaxing and I was able to do some stretching, but after a while I kept hearing a repeating whooshing sound. I think for the first time ever I was able to hear my heart murmur, and while that was cool at first, it eventually became so annoying I couldn’t relax anymore. Instead of the float quieting my senses, hearing my murmur seemed to put them on overdrive.nnAnyway, it was a relief when the hour was over and the music came on. But on a positive note, and the main reason I give it 4 stars is because I definitely did notice the positive effects of a magnesium boost. My skin felt super soft, and my neck and shoulders which are often very stiff were much more relaxed. I slept GREAT that night, and have been sleeping better than usual ever since.nnSince a vast majority of Americans are unknowingly magnesium deficient, I definitely recommend this float for a boost.

This was not for me. It had an odd smell. I didn’t know quite what to expect. Once I got in the tank, I decided to keep the door cracked and turn off the light. The light outside the door was on a timer and turned off. I panicked and reached for the door and closed it instead of opening it. Now disoriented, I felt around for the light switch and couldn’t locate it. I yelled for the employee who didn’t hear me. Luckily, the light outside the door switched on and I was able to get out. This was not relaxing at all and instead I had trouble sleeping that night bc I kept thinking of being stuck in there.
