Grand View School

If you have a special needs child, don't send them here. My child was in the head start there last year and didn't even make it through the 1st day. The head start says they accept all disabilities , but apparently not high functioning Autism. There was no empathy or compassion from the principal and we were told to not bring him back until he had been tested, which he already had been. We ended up moving simply because I was afraid for my child to go there. I wish I would have listened to the other parents with Autistic children when they warned me about this school. We did attempt to reach out to the principal, and a conversation happened, but no call back was ever made by him to set up a meeting.

I moved my children to Tahlequah public after having them at Grand View for 6 years and they have done so much better academically and love school now.

If you want your child to be in a prison type sitting, this is a great place to send them! Parents are treated like they are stupid and the staff acts as if they own your kids, everything is on lock down as if it’s a penitentiary, and if you would like to know why? It’s not because they are trying to keep the kids safe it’s because they are trying to keep the parents out! This was put in place after my special needs daughter was abused by the staff in the early education building, slamming her in a chair and holding her there and the jerking her by her arm and dragging her to the office to be scolded by the principal for sticking her tongue out t the staff while they had her pinned to a chair they didn’t count on my niece that was in the same glass telling on them and they didn’t think my developmentally disabled Daughter would be able to tell either mr. Kennedy called them liars and did nothing! But defend there actions! The following week my friend showed up to check on her daughter and walked into see Mrs. Ferrar dragging her daughter down the hallway by her arm, after this happened her son was slapped in the face by a staff member and walked in, then they put the school on lock down so you can’t just walk in and catch them abusing your child it is NOT for their safety! Mr. Kennedy defends his staff NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO TO THE KIDS!! They are never in the wrong, it is always your child’s fault and if you try to talk to him he will belittle you and make it well known that the school has too many kids and he doesn’t have time to care about yours, a family member and other girls reported there was a coach that was walking into the girls locker room knowing they were changing, and was touching them rubbing their shoulders and backs and hugging them making them feel very uncomfortable,they were told to “shut up and get back to class) this school is HORRIBLE! Mr. Kennedy is the second coming of hitler he is more concerned with what parents post on their personal Facebook then what his staff is doing, he monitors everything you say or do on there but I guess guess he is afraid somebody will shine light on what he allows to go on at this nightmare of a school 90% of the staff are rude and flat out mean to the kids there are a few that are good kind teachers and some office staff that do a wonderful job but sadly the bad strongly outways the good! Please do not send your child there I have nothing to gain from trashing this school I just want to save a parent from the guilt I feel for sending my daughter there and not being able to do anything about them hurting her I feel like I let her down and because of this school I don’t trust any school with my child.
