I called Restore today and asked if they were interested in a donation of moving boxes. They were. I spent about half an hour breaking down loading a ton of boxes into my car and drove across town. I went inside and told them why I was there. They said to go around back to give the boxes. I went around back. The attendant was busy so I started to unload myself. He came out and said to put them in the recycling bin. I said, no they're a donation. Put them in the bin. I told him the office said they wanted them. Put them in the bin. I asked him 3 times to go ask in the office. He refused. He did not help me unload. I had some steel bars that went with the boxes, I didn't know what to do with the. and tossed them on the ground next to the bin. Suddenly he's a victim. "Please don't act like that" and "I didn't do anything to you." I told him he could have gone to ask the front when I asked him to and by refusing, yes he had done this to me. I got in my car and drove to the front to tell them about my experience. Guess who came along. NOW he can come to the front. He came to defend himself. If they didn't want the boxes and were just going to throw them out, I could have saved myself the effort and done it at home. Better yet, I would have given them to some one who needed them. Save your effort, save your time. Donate elsewhere

The change is already apparent in the pricing! As a transplant from Wisconsin and a veteran thrifter/Restore shopper I was disappointed in the Layton Restore. After moving to Layton in March FY20, I think I went 3 times and spent $1.00 total. It was too expensive. When you're already a thrift shopper and you determine you can purchase the product new on sale for around the same amount there is a problem. I understand rent is high and donations are low, but I was happy to read the comments from a new manager a few weeks ago in response to another reviewer saying the same, that they were going to adjust pricing. They have! I went in an purchased $80 worth on Saturday. The beauty of a Restore is in the movement of goods. If people find a deal, they buy, foot traffic increases, more items sell, and the more people that flow through the facility, the more donators you will have, and it becomes a beautiful cycle of reuse. I'm excited to see what this change will bring!

This is the best Restore location I've been to. They have a great selection of building materials that are well organized and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I got a great deal on a has clothes dryer here. I also bought some nice vinyl flooring here.
