Very interesting old Cemetery and Historic Site. Not only is the Greenwood Cemetery noted for many of it's old and ornate headstones mixed in with those markers are some unique Historic Military Markers. During the Civil War Shreveport had a defensive line of trenches and forts positioned around it. Part of Stoner Avenue travels that fortification line which places the Greenwood Cemetery inside the defenses. In the cemetery there was Artillery Batteries that faced out toward the Red River to fire upon any Union Naval Vessels that may attempt to ascend the river.nFittingly there is a specific area where Confederate Soldiers are buried. Adjacent to those graves are the graves of US Veterans of several wars.nThis is a beautiful and historic location for the veterans and some of Shreveport's earlier citizens to wait for Resurrection Day.
Easy excess
Well, it says 24 hours so me like a dummy goes there around 7pm and only stays for like an hour goes to leave and gets locked into cemetery lmao so please change the open time to whatever time you close the gates.
