Honolulu Memorial Park

A hidden gem! I'm sadden to see its current state being shut down and in disrepair. I hope someone can restore the Pagoda and Golden Temple replica to it's former glory.

Too bad it's all run down. It has what it use to be a pagoda and some rubbish piles on the property.

The Honolulu Memorial Park is located in Nuuanu, neighbor of Nuuanu Memorial Park and Oahu Commentary (across the Nuuanu Ave.) The park uses traditional headstones rather than the common flat marker for the graves. Behind the cemetery is the Kyoto Gardens, a National Register Historic Places. The Honolulu Pagoda is the largest pagoda ever built (as of 2004). It is model 1.5 times the Minami Hoke-ji Temple in Nara, Japan. Caution: Please consider the condition of the buildings and do not walk pass the do-not-enter fence.

A quite place. Most likely you would visit for the pagoda or a family member at rest there.
