Calabasas Cemetery was originally established in 1756 by Jesuit missionaries. This was the cemetery for the mission San Cayetano de Calabasas..it was abandoned in the 1780s due to Apache attacks... In 1865 the US Army established Ft Mason Az territory in the abandoned mission. Over 40 soldiers were buried within a 6 month period due to malaria. It later was used by the local residents to bury their dead. Ive been cleaning it for 5 years now.
Calabasas Cementery is the Cementery for the mining town of Calabasas that no longer exists. We toured the Cementery and took these pictures.
