Rancho Santa Cruz is a beautiful and convenient location with clean, comfortable rooms and shared spaces. The owners were super accommodating and flexible, and checked in with us often about how our stay was going. The property is set alongside the Santa Cruz River with access to the De Anza Trail and there is excellent wildlife habitat on the grounds. From a birder's perspective there is much to be enjoyed right outside the door, including Gray Hawks, Tropical and Thick-billed Kingbirds, and Vermilion Flycatchers in the courtyard. Will definitely be staying with Josh again!

We have friends renting a room here for the winter. We went down to stay at this ranch with low expectations. Boy, we we wrong! Super cute ranch with friendly hosts, awesome accommodations, and all kinds of local wildlife. Great hiking trails right on ranch property. Artsy Tubac a quick drive or bike ride away.nnJosh and Cristina were the best B&B hosts I’ve ever met. Both funny and charming, they made us feel like part of the family. Their breakfasts were amazing! Ask Christina for her huevos rancheros. Soooo tasty!nnIf you’re in the area or looking for a fun place to stay, this is the place for you! Definitely would return.

I spent six nights here for an artists’ workshop in late October 2020. Five mornings started with a short lecture and we spent a lot of time on the property to paint. They enforced social distancing, required masks, and had breakfast in two shifts to allow more space between patrons. The majority of the activities were outdoors and there were only about a dozen attendees, so I was comfortable with how that was handled.nnRancho Santa Cruz is a lovely bed and breakfast, on an old property a few miles south of Tubac, a popular artists community. They had about a dozen small motel-style rooms that were recently remodeled and very nicely appointed. The beds were comfortable, and the linens were top notch. There was a dining room for meals and an outdoor barbeque area, a large swimming pool, and many chairs and tables scattered around the well-kept grounds. There were also four or five friendly felines patrolling the property.nnThe staff was great and very helpful. Breakfasts were very good with some version of an egg dish every day paired with additional dishes like French toast, waffles, pancakes, blueberry cake, etc. You can hike to the Santa Cruz river as the de Anza national trail is perhaps a half-mile away. The town of Tubac is a five minute drive and the Tumacácori mission even closer. This is also a popular birding area.nnThe property is well-covered with wifi but there are no televisions available (which was fine with me). The main negative was that I was there six nights and the room was never serviced, which I did not mind much but my trash can was filling up. It’s also right next to the interstate and some folks were bothered by the traffic noise but it was not an issue for others.nnIt’s a very relaxing B&B and I would definitely plan to stay here again.

I had my Big Birthday Party at the Rancho Santa Cruz this April 10 with 18 of us enjoying the nature walk to the Santa Cruz River, wonderful atmosphere and sunshine around the beautiful pool, the most delicious food; chicken fajitas, flour tortillas, ranch beans, pasta salad and rice with all the fixings, and the best birthday cake ever....chocolate flan cake. What a hit that was! And Josh took us on a historic tour of the property. Thank you Josh, Cristina and Tony for all your wonderful, warm graciousness and great food. We loved it. I loved it. Best birthday ever! We will be back....

It's a beautiful riparian and historical ranch. Accommodations are wonderful from the comfortable beds, well selected decor and art, and the delicous breakfast served in the family dining room with surrounding views. The Hosts are warm and friendly and made our stay memorable.
