Preferred Movers NH

I posted a review last year but apparently it was removed. I was moved from Maine to Florida. After giving ample notice , over 2 months, of when I needed delivery, my furniture delivery was change 3 different times. At one point I was told that I did not have a heavy enough load and that was the reason for the delay. I was never informed before or after my furniture was picked up and stored about any weight criteria. I waited almost a month in an empty home for my load. The truck arrived at 9 pm with one driver and what appeared to be a car load of day workers who had been waiting outside my home for some time. When I was presented with the bill , it was over $700 more than the final contract that I signed. As I did not have a bank in Florida yet, I had a requested a final bill before I left Maine and had a bank check with me from my Maine bank. My furniture was held on the truck while the driver attempted to call the owner to discuss the difference between the bill of lading and the final contract that I had in hand. The type written bill had been changed and numbers written over in ink. At first the owner denied doing this but after some discussion on the phone, he admitted that he must have done it. They had forgotten to charge me for one months rent but there was no explanation for the $300 extra I was being charged. Using a credit card was not an option as they charge 4% extra for cards. They lost a 9X12 rug, a box of brand new Christmas decorations from Balsam hill and damage numerous items. The rug showed up weeks later ripped and filthy. I had to trash it. I filed an insurance claim with pictures and was never reimbursed. The last time I spoke to the customer service person , she started to cry and told me they were going out of business and I was never going to see any insurance money as they were self insured. Clearly they are not out of business as I see very recent reviews and I moved in 2019. Worst experience I have ever had. Beware.The owner is a scoundrel and will take advantagenI was a brand new widow and he should be ashamed. I filed a complaint with the better business bureau and left reviews in every possible site. What goes around, comes around and hopefully this company will get caught doing this to someone else and get sued!

We moved from our house in Rye, NH, sending part of our household goods to San Diego and placing part of them in storage. The crew for San Diego was excellent and the goods all arrived safe and on time. The crew for the local move was even better (if that's possible). They completed everything within six hours (loading, unloading and moving into our storage locker), efficiently, professionally and carefully. For both moves the crews were polite, careful and professional: I would have hired any of them myself.nnI've now moved 28 times in my life. This move was one of the best because of the skill and caring of the Preferred Movers team. Five stars!!

I would definitely recommend Preferred Movers! I purchased a large fish tank that was delivered curb side, but was much too heavy for me to move myself. Preferred Movers came twice, once to move my fish tank to my garage and then again to move it into its final position (two separate trips by my choice, they would have done it all in one).nnBoth times the crews came they were polite, professional, and friendly. They did a great job moving my fish tank, which I know could not have been easy given its size and weight. It is in position now and I couldn't be happier!nnPat and Jaime, I so appreciate you fitting me into your schedule so quickly both times, especially the first time when I needed the tank moved from the end of my driveway ASAP. I would definitely recommend your company and if we ever need moving services again we will definitely give you a call!

All around great experience moving my mother from NH to MA. Hard working, polite crew. Would absolutely use them again and encourage those who are looking for a moving crew to go with Preferred Movers!
