It's a nice and quaint piece of heritage but I wish there were more options.
Got 3 pastries (Kruschiki, peach turnover, and a piece of the Torte which the guy working there threw in for free) along w/ a sample of butter cookie (he said “oh look! I found a broken one” and proceeded to break off a cookie ud83eudd7a) and loved all of them! The balance of sweetness to butter was just right for the others, and that torte...Oh that torte...I savored every bite. Moreover, I just appreciated the fantastic customer service, which can be rare these days. From the freebies to patiently explaining all the items, the service is a big part of the reason I’ll be making this part of my regular neighborhood stops.
Service is always super even when they have a full house. Service is consistently good. The place has a great atmosphere.
Ive been eating this bread basically my whole life and it has never disappointed me.
If you are looking for a nostalgic experience, go here. The young gentleman I met today didn’t mind staying open a little later to allow me to look through the bakery cabinet. He explained everything perfectly, giving samples and all the while making conversation. I imagine not much has changed there over the years, especially the amazing service.
