Rent-A-Center

Me and my wife were on a rent to own program for a washer and dryer set. Everything was fine until we tried to apply some money towards payoff, which an employee ended up applying towards paying ahead on payments instead. This meant that instead of payoff being brought down the amount it should’ve been had the money been applied the right way, it was only brought down by around half as much as the cash paid, since they added weekly fees and twice the tax rate to the money applied towards payoff. The store couldn’t return the money because (they told us afterwards) payoff money had to be paid in cash and would then be refundable. After dealing with the store for over a week I believe I finally contacted corporal, talked to two different people and got two different responses. The second response from corporate hooked me up with our district manager, who was supposed to contact me the next week, and, best as I know, never did. Due to this experience, my honest review of Rent a Center is that they all are crooks from corporate on down. I would not recommend rent to own anytime one could stay away from it, but, in those cases where there is no other option, go to Babers, stay away from here. They are not honest (I looked at the receipt after the misapplied payment, and found out they charged us 14% sales tax: when I confronted someone at the store about this, he said straight out that if I were to get a burger at McDonalds, I would pay 14% tax in Booneville; well, I looked at my Walmart receipt later, and found out that, just as I thought, Booneville is on a 7% tax.)nPS Talked to my neighbor the other day, and he told us that his couch and loveseat came from Rent a Center. He said it took them seven days just to deliver it (ten minutes with slow traffic from the store) and that is was in a bit tougher condition that new, as it was supposed to be. He is disgruntled as well, and said he would never do business with them again.

Rented a pair conditioner and it was so loud and banged up. Not impressed

Was just in there and the 2 sales representative employed there were very rude and very unprofessional. Y'all closed down the Rent a Center in Corinth to keep that set of horrible employees. Very sad and y'all lost all of our future business
