Bob’s Discount Furniture and Mattress Store

We purchased a dinning room table on the tax free weekend here in MA (8/15/2020). We were told that the table would be ready for pick up around the mid- last week of Sept. Not hearing anything towards the last week of Sept. I went into the store to check the status of my order. I was told then that there is a delay from the manufacture and it is going to be delayed another month. I questioned as to why I did not receive a call to inform me of this, I was told that my salesperson should have contacted me. They did not. Strike 1. I was the told that the chairs would would arrive one day and the table another day they just don't know when. I then asked if Bob's was going to do anything for my inconvenience like offer free delivery of my purchase. They said no. Strike 2. The chairs and table arrived the last week of Oct on two separate days, had to make two trips to the store to pick up my purchase. When I unpacked the table, a piece of the wood on the leaf insert was damaged. I called the store and was told that I would have to take the entire table apart and bring it in just to replace the small insert that was damaged which made no sense. Strike 3. This was our first time shopping at Bob's for furniture and this will be the last. To spend over $1,100 for a piece of furniture and to have customer service like this made it very easy for me to make my decision as to shop there again. I will not.

I am moving for military and need new furniture for my new residence I will be moving to next month. Upon entering I was not greeted by ANY salesperson. In fact 15 minutes passed and still no one asked if I needed assistance so I took the initiative to ask for help. However, I did notice other customers walk in after me and they were not only greeted but were professionally assisted as well. I walked past employees and they were either on their phones or simply made eye contact and didn’t offer assistance. Horrible experience and salesmanship. It felts as if due to me being a minority I didn’t receive any assistance but I could be wrong however I’m speaking from my own experience.

Never going to buy from Bob's again. This is a review of the Bob's phone service and not related to their products. I ordered a mattress online and plan to pick it up at one of the stores. All that I wanted to find out was if the mattress was at the store for me to pick up so that I wouldn't waste time driving there. The phone number for service puts you into an impossible loop of automated hell and when you finally get to talk to someone, it takes at least an hour of being on hold. I will never purchase anything from Bob's again because of this extremely frustrating experience.

I went to Bob's today in search of a couch. There was a 10 minute wait in line before I got in. I spotted the couch I wanted in less than 5 minutes. Alicia G answered all my questions and had me out of there in less than 15. Great shopping experience and customer service. Thank you.
