All of the interactions I've had over the years with OPD have been professional and courteous, even the few times I was wrong. I would have to say these negative reviews have more to do with the reviewers than the OPD.

Why is the rating so low 2.1. Very strange. Watch and pray. We do need the police to do there jobs right, very curious about the low rating.only God knows the truth. I Hope this help someone. There will be a judgement one day not here at the courthouse. We all will have to stand before God one day.if any situation is not right. God will correct. If people are not telling the truth about them , don't worry about it.Let God handle it. Watch and pray.

Officers are supposed to protect and serve their community and yet the Opelika Police Department refused to help me and my children who were stranded outside in the heat today when we accidentally locked my car keys and wallet in my car. They told me to call a locksmith in which I replied that I didn't have any money for a locksmith or data/minutes on my phone to call and they said sorry we can't help you.

If they would do their job, the courtrooms would be emptied out of false police reports and false imprisonment. These people who do false police reports don't even show up to court and should be questioned about that.

Appalled by the 'permissible' behavior of Phillip Hancock. How could the officer's behavior (aka shooting an innocent man (who is also a veteran(thank you for your service Mr. Davidson))) be viewed as just? You are paid to PROTECT and SERVE the community. As an officer, you must be apt to professionally handle high-stress situations. If you are unable to do so, perhaps you should find another occupation more suited to your abilities. To allow such behavior, and deem it 'reasonable', is a true reflection of your department. I hope the citizens of Opelika, AL are not fond of carrying WALLETS because apparently you may be justly shot for carrying one. As Mr. Davidson lies there in AGONY, the officers on scene want to know how Hancock is doing??? I am sickened by what Mr. Davidson experienced, and am furious to see Mr. Davidson denied the justice he deserves. Hancock was/is clearly unstable and should not be working as an officer. Opelika Police Department's purpose is to protect and serve the community, so do it.
