Quick and very friendly issue of Emergency Passport after loss two weeks before on a bus. This gave time to get an appointment sorted out. I can't comment on how it would work in a more time pressured situation. I would say that they should have a buzzer at the entrance as I couldn't get back in to ask a question once I'd left!

Never answering to a phone call!

How do I get in touch with a human? Very frustrating phone experience.

Can't get an answer to my question. I want to speak to a human but it is impossible.

My father passed away suddenly and I needed an emergency passport. The earliest appointment I could get was 6 days later-hardly helpful in an emergency! Also, the web site tells you the appointment is not confirmed and you shouldn’t make travel plans until the consulate contacts you. I waited 2 days and then called as I hadn’t heard anything and desperately needed to make plans. After navigating the infuriating message system I finally was able to talk to someone who wasn’t based in Boston. She was great and seemed genuinely disappointed that no one had contacted me. She was able to contact someone at the consulate in NY who confirmed my appointment so I could at least book a flight. I haven’t had my appointment yet and will update this review after I have. But my general feeling is one of extreme disappointment and frustration that the consulate is so inefficient and isn’t there to help in an emergency at all. Zero stars. Terrible service.
