This is a remarkable place that is just down the road from the Antietam National Battlefield. Highly recommend visiting this place.
So poignant. The bloodiest day in American history. So many graves and these are just the Union Soldiers.
This sacred place should be the follow-up your tour of the Antietam Battlefield. A trip here to pay one's respect to valiant men who freely gave their lives to preserve the Union and abolish slavery. A little bit of time given by all of us to insure these men will never be forgotten as they cemented their place in American history.
it was a gorgeous January morning when i stop here and i was very excited to the this historical place but soon after i started to walk the grounds i couldn't help feeling sad that and wished places like this didn't exist. its hard to believe the almost 4800 Civil War soldiers are buried here.
RIP to those who fell at Antietam.
