Like many other reviewers, attempting to reach Permits by telephone was very difficult. However, upon emailing, I received an immediate response and followup telephone call. Nikki Nash of Inspections and Permits was extremely helpful and provided me with the information I needed. I should have expected telephone issues due to COVID-19 prior to my phone call attempts; but, as stated, email proved to be the best way to receive a response.

We moved to Anne Arundel county last year and have dealt with the permit office on several occasions. The inspectors (building & forestry) have been very responsive. I've left messages and they returned my calls the same day. The inspectors answered all of my questions, provided information on the permit process and were extremely helpful. The on-line trade permit submission process has been efficient.

So all you have to do is pay the right people to get a permit passed in this county its all about hand outs they really need to be investigated

Absolutely pathetic. Been trying to get ahold of someone for a plumbing permit for 3 months and have left countless voicemail to multiple people. Noone has even returned bothered to return a call. Government incompetence at its finest.

Update 2021- Big improvements! While it still takes 3 weeks (their words-not mine) to get a Fire Protection system permit, They seem to be getting it together and embracing the situation that everyone is in. And, specifically, phone responses are better than other localities that I've been working in (permits/plans). Each time I've called I have spoken to a REAL human having good knowledge about plans and permits.nUPDATE: Things have improved with responsiveness and processing, however, still very slow as compared to pre-covid.nJust terrible...No progress even after 10 days. Nothing. I dropped off permit application and check 10 days ago...check still not cashed and permit not processed. It's like they are not even accountable. Also calls go to voicemail. BUT I KNOW THEY ARE STILL GETTING PAID - while I can not get paid or even work because they refuse to work and I need a permit. If they cant process permits, then they should waive the requirement. Other local, bigger jurisdictions are doing a better job.
