Anne Arundel County - Jennifer Road Detention Center

Now my review of this place is dating back over 10 years when I was a tenant for 18 months. The accommodations are quite lacking though they supply you with a bed to sleep in and three meals a day the mattresses are often very thin or ripped open pay special attention to make sure there’s not existing contraband in your mattress. The meals lack a lot of flavor and your options are processed turkey if you can even call it turkey in every sort of different ways shape and form and lots of potatoes. If you’re looking to gain weight and not stay starving utilizing their commissary is a must. The prices of commissary do not relate those at a grocery store or even 7-Eleven can you say price gouging? A simple cuppa noodles that you can acquire at the grocery store for $.19 will run you over a dollar here which is absurd because they limit how much money you can actually spend in a week. If you’re going to visit a loved one I recommend getting an online certificate stating that you’re a minister because then you can visit them as a clergy member because if you visit as a normal person they’re going to treat you like criminals as well! Now don’t get me wrong there are far worse places such as Baltimore city bookings But even when you compare Jennifer Road to Anne Arundel County’s other place ordinance Road it is below standard.

I have never experienced such disfunction within a company. My husband is locked up in Anne Arundel Co and has been in pain regarding his tooth,( which is visibly causing him extreme pain), and the jail cant keep their records straight in order to assist.nWhen I spoke to a nurse last night, she told me that she switched his medicine, but today since that nurse is not in, no one seems to know what happened. I called and an officer Mc Carter told me that she REFUSED to get sergeant Darr on the line so that I can explain what happened last night. None of this would have been an issue if the dentist would have seen him Friday. Now my husband has to SUFFER in pain because of lack of proper communication and due to lack of resources. This is such a shame. One would think that the State capital would have better conditions then other places, but it has shown to be just as bad.nIn addition, maybe the heath department needs to take a look at the conditions in there. One of the areas my husband was kept in, he constantly sneezed. One of the other inmates told him that he would eventually get used to it.

It wasnt very fun being in there for 5 years

This place treats visitors as criminals! My husband is stared at, whispered about and giggled at! Are they still in high school? They certainly have the intellectual. He comes directly there after 12 hours on a construction site. He is still in his work clothes and they laugh at him. Jokes on them he makes $32.00 an hour a HELL a lot more than they could ever dream of getting an hour.

This place is a joke. I feel for anyone who has to go there, inmate or visiting families and loved ones. ud83dude1b They put a loved one on 22hr lock down just because they are over crowded (God knows MD needs money so they're locking up everyone they can) instead of putting the trouble makers and problem inmates on lockdown they're putting new inmates just coming off the medical dorm on 22hr lockdown just because they don't have anywhere else to put them. This place is a F*****g joke!!! The only reason I gave this place one star is because there isn't an option for less. They deserve negative stars!!
