Mandara Spa at theWailea Beach Resort - Marriott, Maui

Somewhat disappointing experience for my wife here—certainly for the cost. I booked her a deep tissue massage and facial for her birthday, and the COVID accommodations really detracted from the experience in a significant way. The facial massage was conducted with cheap gloves instead of bare hands, and the aromatics included in the massage were really ruined by the masseuse insisting she keep a mask on (but apparently there wasn’t a safety issue during the facial, when the mask was not required?). Additionally, gratuity and unlisted/surprise “service fees” were included and not disclosed at any point prior to the final bill. For $400 worth of services, it was a significant letdown.

While staying at the resort my wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a massage. Overall amazing staff, great atmosphere and a very relaxing message. They really make you feel like royalty.nnUnfortunately while the message was relaxing I did not come out feeling any different from it and that was a bit disappointing. The massage itself was not firm enough and I felt like I still had bunch of discomfort in my neck and back.

They have a steam room, lockers, and private showers with a double entrance one to get to a (un)dressing dry space and then a second private door to get into the shower. They also offer all disposable needs of razors, combs and brushes as well as larger shared bottles of deodorant and hair products. They have a beautiful quiet space for you have your services and overall do a great job of making you feel like you're in a private calm place and can really relax to enjoy whatever you booked. I also appreciate that for a small fee you can access the steam room and all spaces if your not getting a service. We've been enjoying using that after our workouts at the gym.

The massage and scrub were both very good. The amenities were just okay. There was only a steam room, no hydrotherapy or mud bar like some of the area spas. The space was very clean and the staff was helpful. Pricing was comparable to most hotel spas, but with a Groupon I was able to get a discounted combo package!
