La Provence

Didn’t really like this place. Went on a Wednesday and they were closed all day for no apparent reason. Went the next day at 10:30. We were told they don’t serve breakfast on week days. Did like the passion fruit meringue tart. The out door ambiance wasn’t that great. Cheap metal tables and chairs. Also the outdoor space felt dark. We went to Maui Bees around the corner and liked it much better. Much better view of upcountry. Great breeze. Great coffee. Food choices seemed really odd and too healthy but we loved everything we ordered. Gluten free peanut butter cookies. Soups, tacos. We went to Maui bees 3 days in a row. Bought passion fruit by the pound and ate it at the condo. March/2021

Lovely low-key lunch spot, sandwiches, salads and crepes with beautiful french pastries. Outdoor garden, ample parking and french speaking clientele. BYOB to make it really special!

Great breakfast spot! My husband and I always stop here on the way to go on a weekend Kulu hike. We also take every single person that visits us to this restaurant. The pastries are sooooo good! Seriously every single thing on the menu and in the bakery is fantastic. This place also has an amazing view of Maui. Highly recommend!

Pastry is nothing short of amazing. We visited in COVID time so only two people are allowed inside the store to order. This takes a loooong time but wait worth it. The only thing I would improve is to give the menue to the people waiting outside so they can choose what to order and speed up the process.

A very Sad Experience!nWe’ve tried a few times to eat at La Provence without success. Tried again today to utter disappointment. I don’t know what was worse, the long wait or the inability of two waitresses to cover five tables. We fully understand during a pandemic you have to be accommodating and patient. But when people come in after you have been seated and served before your order is taken that’s beyond insulting. The wait staff could care less about being there or serving, at least to a local family. I’ve never been to a restaurant I seriously didn’t want to leave any tip until today. The saddest part is the food is quite extraordinary. It will be a long time before we ever go back and will be spreading the word to avoid La Provence until the owner hires better staff.
