The restaurant is excellent, the rooms cozy and lush, and the patio bedecked with art, but this Lodge's hiking trails are the best with overlooks, contemplation points and the not-to-be-missed Million Bones project permanent art instillation which offers an interactive opportunity to carry bones in observance of genocide. A weighty topic but an incredible site of a field of ceramic bones laid out to remind people the cost of ethnic hatred in our world.

Then setting, the rooms, the food, the hospitality were all terrific. Can't wait to go back. Plus they loved our great big dog. Highly recommend!!!!

12/10! This is my favorite place to go when I want to get away from everything and just relax. The rooms are private, quiet, and have everything you need. The scenery is breathtaking and the surrounding property is full of beautiful private trails. The animals (horses, cows, dogs, chickens) on the property are so sweet and pleasant and the staff has so many cool stories and information/recommendations to share about the area. If you give them 24 hours notice, they will cook dinner for you, which I highly suggest doing as the food is incredible!nThank you so much Jeff, Linda, and everyone else who makes Bear Mountain Lodge such a wonderful piece of paradise!

This lodge is a jewel in the beautiful SW New Mexico desert. Came here for a short road trip from Phoenix, and wow. We got a room in the main lodge and had our own patio to hang out on under the desert sky. We relaxed outside with a pretty gnarly tarantula named Ozzy, who mostly ignored us as he crawled along the outer wall and ceiling of the porch hunting bugs that were interested in our porch light. We ate breakfast outside on the porch adjacent to the kitchen and watched dozens of hummingbirds playing quiddich while attempting to drink from one of the many hummingbird feeders hung nearby, totally mesmerizing.nnWe plan to return and hope that we do not have another cloudy night, I bet the stars are amazing this far away from a big city. The guy who checked me out was super nice and made my wife and I feel welcomed, everyone wore masks in common places and was really clean.
