I would like to tell my experience. My wife and I just renewed our passports.nThe experience was actually surprisingly easy and simple. The personnel at the Consulate were nice and we had a good time.nI was really worried as I read a lot of bad reviews but it was peasant. We had our appointments setup online at 11.00 AM but they let us in at 10.30 AM. In 30 minutes we both had the papers done and it took another 30 minutes for printing. Piece of cake.

I am a travel agent and use this location for at least 100 visas a year. I use the honorary consul that is in SLC UT for the personal appearance and it is always the BEST experience. Once I finish in SLC the documents go to SFO...

Emails were answered and i even received a call from one of the staff to go over the steps to obtain a document. Professional and caring.

Had a tourist visa appointment this morning. You know it’s a great consultate when the security official cracks jokes about your backpack :). The interview happened at 09:15 sharp, I didn’t wait a single second! The interview official was warm, personable and welcoming. She even quickly photocopied my passport main page since I was missing mine. It was all taken care of in ten minutes and we were out of there by 09:30. I should also mention I was able to get an emergency appointment thanks to their website which offers clear instructions on what they need and an efficient appointment booking system. Hands down the best consulate experience I’ve had and I’ve certainly been to a few! Thank you Italian consulate of SF, looking forward to visiting your beautiful country. Cheers!

I am not sure why these people are getting bad reviews. I got visas here multiple times and my experience was very good.nnIf you have all the listed documents and manage to get an appointment the whole process is pretty simple. The trick is to check for an appointment opening everyday if you need one and don’t find one in the travel time frame.
