Consulate General of Vietnam in San Francisco

Traveled to Vietnam in 2018 and 2019. Obtained my visa through this office. Very efficient, business like service. Go early morning, when they open, to avoid the lines. If I recall correctly it takes about a week to get your Visa/passport back. You can go right to the window, without waiting in the line, only to pickup.

I got a document notarized to use in Vietnam. I sent the document to Vietnam but it was rejected by a government office.nThe government official in Vietnam didn't provide reason and just rejected, and couldn't even meet him again. I went through the whole process asking them to do everything carefully. But, it was rejected again. At least the reason of rejection was informed this time. It seems obvious that the notary was done in an incorrect way. Due to failure of 2 attempts, I lost my chance to use the document, no longer need to get a notary any more. However, they refused to refund even any of $200 I paid. A person in the consulate general told me it was my fault not getting to know why it was rejected. I believe it's their duty to know how to do things correctly. I don't have to tell them how to do things in a correct way.

I called them to asked some information about passport renewal for my family, they are very quick in responded. Nice, polite and soft speaking. I got all information needed. I think this place better than the one in DC.
