I really enjoy every visit to the Bouldering Project here in Minneapolis! There are a TON of interesting and challenging problems available for all levels. I started here with a safety class and was incredibly grateful for the exceptional coaching by the staff, especially coming back from a very serious climbing-related injury. The one inconvenience is the hours--no weekday evenings for day pass members--but understandable given the pandemic. All in all, would recommend!
My kids love taking classes here. My ten-year-old daughter and my seven-year-old son are often enrolled in youth programs. The instructors are great. Fun energy. Good knowledge of climbing.nRequired to take temperature at entry. Masks required during climbing.
They are chill as long as you actually know how to fall. More importantly, there is a good community there, and I have always been able to climb with other people I have never met before or just keep seeing. No complaints, but I would like to see more consistent-to grade-scale routes!
MBP is awesome. My boyfriend and I both joined after climbing with a friend in Colorado and have not looked back. They focus on bouldering (climbing without ropes) but also offer tons more- yoga, saunas, climbing classes, a gym, group fitness classes, and cool film screenings. The membership is super reasonable and we love all the people we've met at MBP!
