We accidentally got on the Indiana-Ohio turnpike toll road. When we finally escaped its clutches we meandered northwest into the countryside and eventually landed here. What a gift! We bought out the shop: still-warm loaves of white and wheat bread; a perfect pie - sweet-tart apples wrapped in flaky pastry; a big box of delicious rustic chocolate candies; a bunch of pumpkins for fall decorating; a gorgeous hand-loomed entry rug. The location is beautiful and the owner is charming. Amish Country Bakery is very off the beaten path - and so SO worth the trip. Just go.
Now that you have found this secret, you must share. This is a fun road trip and this stop makes it delicious.
Great stuff!! If you're on a diet don't go here. Cookies, candy, bread, pie are all good.
