Oak Express

I am writing this review in hope that the rest of you will not get taken like we did by shopping at Oak Express. We purchased a nine piece dining set from Oak Express for a ridiculously inflated price, close to $1,500 and after two years now we are absolutely furious and fed up with the terrible quality of the product they sold us and the horrible customer service. The table is not solid wood, be very careful about this. It has a thin layer of wood glued on the top and it chips off and nicks with the slightest of touch. The wood is very soft and dents. Our family is not unreasonable on furniture. The table set we had prior to this we had for 10 years and when we sold it it still looked new. The quality of this furniture is garbage and I strongly urge you not to make the same mistake we did. We were at a friend's house for dinner recently and they had a dining set nicer than ours that they said they bought at IKEA for $200. We were entirely taken to the cleaners by Oak Express. Their furniture is garbage.

I have bought a lot of things from Furniture Row and the service has gotten really, really bad. I just recently purchased a dining room set with six chairs. I specifically asked that they check to make sure that everything was correct before we picked it up. They said that they did. When we got it home, two of the chairs were the wrong ones. Also. . . I have spent a lot of money there and asked for delivery service. They said that they were REALLY far behind on their deliveries and I would have to remove the table from the floor without 48 hours. (Their delivery truck sits parked everytime I pass the store.) They reordered, supposedly the correct chairs. I called and they told me that they were available for pickup. Got there and there were NO chairs. The chairs are all out of stock and there will be no more. They offered to give me a deal on two chairs that didn't match. He said he would TRY and have them here by Friday. It has been weeks and weeks since I've purchased this set. I told them if they aren't there on Friday to forgot it and keep them. Another customer was looking for a particular chair. He saw it on the display up above. He asked about it and they refused to sell it to him. She said those chairs were just for looks and needed to stay displayed.

The quality of the furniture is horrible. Beware that they will do everything they can to sell you a warranty plan and will promise that it covers any issue with the furniture. A year later and the solid wood top is peeling on a table and the enamel on a wooden bed is cracking. When you call for help they will refuse to help you and will tell you that it is a warranty issue. Your warranty claim will also be denied. Go somewhere else and buy quality furniture that will last. Don't fall for their gimmicks.
