Sears Hometown Store

Teresa, the Waltersboro Sears Home Store owner/manager, was an incredible help to me in obtaining a replacement kitchen range. When my 6 month old Samsung range died and parts could not be obtained, I was authorized for a replacement range under the Sears Protection Agreement. I live in WV and in my local Sears Hometown Store where the Samsung was purchased, the owner was rude, belligerent, and absolutely no help at all. While on vacation in SC, I happened to shop online at the Waltersboro store, found the model I wanted, and spoke with Teresa. I was willing to pay extra for shipping to be able to order from her and have it shipped to WV, but that proved to be impossible due to the required return of the dead Samsung.nnLong story short, Teresa went waaaaay “above and beyond” to help me. She spent countless hours on the phone on my behalf, negotiating with the Protection Agreement services for my chosen model and researching options for free shipping. She even endured verbal harassment from the owner of the WV store when she attempted to “team up” with them to complete this process and get local shipping! She did all this when this was not her original sale, this Protection Agreement replacement was no profit to her, and I was not even local to her community!nnIn the end, I was able to get the range I wanted, delivered from out of state, with help from Teresa and a Protection Agreement Resolution Specialist. I am delighted with my new range, after 257 days of having to cook with a hotplate and toaster oven. These days, no appliance of any brand is reliable, regardless of where you buy it. I thought buying the Sears Protection Agreement would protect me from the type of unpleasant experience I just had, if an appliance went bad. But it was no protection against an immature, unprofessional WV store owner who would not help me acquire my replacement range. If Teresa had not been determined to help me, I still wouldn’t have a replacement range. Be aware how important it is to have a kind, knowledgeable store owner who cares about making things right for her customers! Teresa is an angel and I will be forever grateful to her!

The staff at the Walterboro store is great!! However, I would not recommend that you purchase anything from Sears that requires an extended warranty. Have been without a washer now for two weeks. One guy came out and said the hot water line was leaking that didn’t even have water coming into it. I was on hold for an hour and a half trying to get another appointment, only to have the same repair service cancel. Called Sears again, only to be on hold for nearly two hours this time. Got another appointment and requested a different repairman, again, only to be canceled once again. Please do yourself a huge favor and DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM SEARS THAT WILL NEED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY!!! They’re warranty “department “ isn’t even in the US. So, just know that you’re gonna be speaking to people that can’t even directly help you and that you can’t even understand. Please don’t purchase anything from Sears unless it’s just a small thing that doesn’t need to be under warranty. This is such an awful situation too, because the folks at the Walterboro store are so nice, friendly and helpful.

Store does not have a very good selection of appliances. Prices are good for what they have in stock.

This is an awesome Sears location. It is on bells Highway next to Tractor Supply and Belk. The owner is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure excellent and Professional Service. Have been doing business there for a long time. Very wide selection of refrigerators stoves freezers and other appliances. Also a good selection of lawn mowers and yard care equipment. And a very good selection of Craftsman tools, there is always a sale of some kind going on so you can find a deal.
