I shop here for work, and I've had mostly positive experiences. The inside of this store always smells so strange to me, even while wearing a mask. Lately I've done curbside pickup, and the staff have been really great about finding all of my items, bringing them out in a timely manner, and helping me load my vehicle. The prices on large bulk items are good, but normal, smaller grocery items can be pricey for what you get. Membership is usually at least $50, so you have to decide if that will offset with the goods you plan to purchase.
Great store! One of the very few stores that I've shopped at during this pandemic.
Ordered a photo sheet cake at the BJ's Briar Creek location for a milestone birthday. When I picked up my order the cake decorator handed me a round photo cake that had sunk in the middle, colors and writing was bleeding thru and lumpy. It looked like it was thrown together quickly. When I told her that's not what I ordered and how bad it looked she proceeded to fix another one. The second one was lopsided, uneven and looked really bad. She told me there was nothing she could do and that the cake came like that and would settle once it thawed out in the middle which upset me further to hear the second cake was frozen. On top of all of this she showed no empathy and was un concerned with really resolving these issues to which I finally asked to speak with a manager. The manager agreed she should not have presented the cakes like that and provided me a really nicely decorated room temperature cake free of charge. I was glad the manager stepped in to save this mistake of horrible decorating and customer service skills. However this was the first and last time ordering cakes thru them.
The woman who gave me my membership card, had no idea what she was doing, which made the experience of joining BJ'S a terrible experience!nGave BJ'S 3 stars because all other staff was helpful and pleasant with the exception of the woman who worked on my Business Membership; dealing with her made me feel regret for leaving another club.
Bought a custom cake for my Sister birthday on Valentines day! I had ordered it online and had a pickup time of 10am for the day before her birthday. I got to bjs about noon, and they could not find my order, I pulled the confirmation email on my phone, so the lady said she would make it right away and that it was going to be free! That was awesome news to me, It was only a $20 cake but that was great news for me. So I went out to lunch and came back to pick up the cake. Of course it was a new lady at the bakery, who then said she could take $5 off my cake, I then tried explaining to her and the manager that the first bakery employee told me the cake would be free since it was late. The manager told me that was not true and that she did not yell me that. I unfortunately could not get the managers name who said that, but wow I have to keep a membership to shop in a place that lies straight to my face and calls me a liar. This was by far the worst time I've ever experienced in BJs, thankfully their is a newer harris Teeter close that i would highly recommend shopping at!
