Got some fantastic garlic and horseradish cheeses.
Great place! Fresh produce that you just can't get at Food Lion.
The Market Mgr., Janet, is always friendly and helpful. They have a program for SNAP recipients that doubles their SNAP benefits. ($1 in SNAP will get you $2 in tokens to spend on food.)nThe people that have booths there have fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, eggs, canned and pickled items, cheeses, and baked goods. I can not list everything, but they have a nice variety. They are open on Saturday mornings 8 to noon, and on Wednesdays afternoons from 3 to 6.
Bought shrimp that I was told was fresh from Wanchese, but it was beyond bad! It smelled like ammonia & rotten fish when I opened the bag to clean them. The shrimp were mushy & discolored brown. Threw it all out... Had to bleach everything to get rid of the horrendous odor. Never again!
Wasn't aware that the market was closed on Wednesday's during the winter, need to amend the schedule online.
