Hampton Inn & Suites Frederick-Fort Detrick

A beautiful family and business friendly hotel. All safety pandemic precautions are taken. Hotel is super clean and very up to date. Front desk folks are friendly and really helpful if you need. Plenty of free parking, places to eat and to visit. Hotel is right off of Rt. 15 in Frederick City. Close to historic downtown and Ft. Dietrick. Very well light property which makes it easy to find. Room rates are very reasonable. Frederick is very safe and family friendly. This Hampton Inn is a favorite of ours!

Everything you would expect.

I called prior to arriving in Frederick to inquire about getting my three rooms early, I was told I could check in at 2:30pm. I made a grocery store stop and arrived at the hotel a few mins before 3pm. I was told my rooms were not ready yet and to wait. We (children and a senior citizen with me) waited until almost 4:30 in the lobby before we were able to check in. Upon going to our rooms, I realized the heat was on in mine- causing the thermostat to read 82 degrees. I turned it to cool and 70 but it was steady pumping out heat. I turned it off completely and I called the front desk. The woman I spoke to said she would have a manager call me back. I left the room to go to my mother's room, where we were visiting with my granddaughter. In the two hours I was away from my room, I did not receive a phone call like I was told I would. When I got back to my room, the temp had not budged, so I unpacked and proceeded to get into the shower. Just as I did, the room phone rang. It was the front desk manager telling me to come down and change rooms. Mind you this is hours after I reported the issue, now dark outside and I was standing there naked from hopping out of the shower. I am partially disabled, changing rooms would have been a nightmare for me after unpacking and getting undressed. I told the manager I would stay where I am but asked if they could find me a fan. I was advised they would look. I never heard back. The next day I purchased a fan to use in the room.nAnother issue was the bed. It felt like I was lying on the cement pavement! I have never had that issue at a Hampton Inn before, prior to this we've always had great experiences.nThe majority of the staff at this hotel is rude and unpleasant. The one front desk manager was kind and tried to assist but I feel like it was too little too late once I was indisposed.nThe room was clean, so that's one positive from the experience.

We stayed here a second time after an excellent experience the first time, see original review below. I realize many things have changed with the pandemic but they closed the whirlpool and limited the pool to 45 minute slots. We were only able to make a reservation ONCE in four days. They told us the pool closed at 8pm (bc why?). But other people were enjoying the pool when we came back after 9pm one night. Breakfast is a bagged deal with the same exact thing, four days in a row. Coffee was lukewarm.nnThat said, the rooms are still clean and well maintained and the cleaning staff is wonderful.nnOriginal post:nFirst time at this location and loved it. The property is well maintained, pool is clean and warm. The room was fabulous, spacious and beds quite comfortable. Breakfast is your usual hotel type but they do it really well with lots of variety. Really liked the lobby too, very pretty and laid out well.

This hotel is amazing,the moment you walk in its like your at home. All the staff were extremely nice! Highly recommended
