Not only did the store have exactly what we were looking for, it was quality, priced right and the salesman was great. Then came the delivery! As I don’t live at the home full time, the store worked with me to arrange the delivery at a time and date that was convenient. Their two man truck crew was perfect! Complete gentlemen who arrived on time and masked and worked very efficiently. Thank you!

Great selection of furniture for the entire house. Quality products at great price levels and much better construction the the big chain stores. The interior designers and sales people are so helpful and not high pressure. Family owned and local and it shows!

We bought furniture here, on a couple of occasions years ago, when we bought our first home in VA. We decided to update for the move to our new home. We had been furniture shopping for about a week near our home in RVA. We found things that had some of the features we wanted and some in the color we wanted, but we couldn't find both for a reasonable price with a decent delivery schedule. One item we liked couldn't be delivered for 20 weeks!! We decided to expand our search to Williamsburg and stopped in two stores there. They didn't have what we were looking for either, but one saleswoman suggested we drive over to Newport News to visit North Carolina Furniture & Mattress. We took the twenty minute ride and we were so glad we did! They had the only furniture that checked off every box we were looking for and a few extra features we didn't expect. The staff were extremely helpful, very knowledgeable, and a true joy to work with. The prices were reasonable for the furniture we wanted. Luckily, most of their furniture could be custom ordered in fabric or leather in a pretty large range of choices. We will have to wait a couple of months for the furniture to be built and delivered, but it is exactly what we want. For us, it was well worth the drive from Richmond. If you are looking for something a bit more personal or custom, without spending a fortune, give them a try. If you call or visit, ask for Stephanie. She was awesome to work with and made the process very pleasant.

Carolina Furniture and Mattress is a “gem” on the peninsula. The furniture selection is outstanding and the staff and personal service they offer is excellent! I have purchased several pieces of Stressless furniture from them and I will do so again in the future. I highly recommend them.
