I had an appointment between 8:30-9:00 to meet them to deliver 3 rugs at our summer home. They arrived at 8:00 and didn’t not call. They left our house and went to another job and would not be able to do the delivery until later. We had to call them to find out where they were. This is unacceptable as they knew we were traveling from out of town for the delivery and they did not cal. Poor communication and poor customer service.

We purchased both carpet and Luxury Vinyl Tile from Bay Flooring. The Carpet is fine. The installation of the tile is a disaster. Within weeks of installation the edges of the tile were curling up and the tiles separated in many places. This is a high quality Mohawk product. And a big job.nThe owner (Jim) didn’t order enough glue from the manufacturer and halfway through the job they switched to a different product. The installer told me that at the time he called Jim about the glue and was told to continue the installation using the different glue which was against the manufacturers recommendation. They also failed to use a roller as per manufacturers installation recommendations.nnAs soon as the problems began we called Bay Flooring to come out and fix the floor. The installer came out no less than six times and made a mess that I spent many hours cleaning up myself.nPart of their solution was to fill in gaps with white caulk. The caulk sucks up dirt and is now black.nStill going round and round with them. Flooring is curling up all over.nBelieve me, this isn’t over!nStay away!

When I first visited the store in White Stone I inquired about rectified tile. They were clueless. Rectified tile has square edges opposed to rounded and looks like marble flooring when set correctly. I found the distributor in Richmond and shared it. The tile setter Bay Flooring used was in the Witness Protection Program. He left lippage (uneven edges) through out the job. Some of the places are so high they are tripping hazards as they have caught the toe of my shoe while walking normally. The installer only brought one piece of worn out sand paper for use on rough spots in the subfloor. Bay Flooring also installed the sub-floor which should be level and not have rough spots. The excuse was the tile was warped - so why was the delivery accepted if this was true? The shower job was a disaster and had to be dug out and replaced. The tile setter had no idea how to install a shower drain correctly or was just too lazy to do It correctly. The owner even told a friend that his shower water drained the wrong direction so there was nothing they could do. Drain water in the northern hemisphere drains the same direction, irregardless.This was just another lame excuse. Bay Flooring even installed the tile pattern the wrong direction in one bathroom to make the project easier to do.nIn addition Bay Flooring installed our oak flooring that was not allowed to climate adjust. This led to warping where boards required screws to hold level.nNice showroom for manufacturer’s samples, but jerks for installation. It might be luck of the draw if a good installer works there for a short period of time, but certainly the one we received wasn’t.
