Love this winery! I've lived in the area for 6+ years and have been to many wineries but it wasn't until I went to Phillip Carter that I decided to become a member. Literally every wine they make is great! Highly recommended

Visited 16 wineries in the area over the past couple days. During the Covid restrictions it can be a mystery as to how different wineries are operating currently.nPhilip Carter winery was easily one of the best stops out of all the wineries. The wines were all really good. They offer flights, glass and bottles. The staff was amazing. Everything was clean and socially distanced. Definitely check this place out.

I would highly recommend a trip out to Philip Carter. We arrived when they opened at noon. We had excellent service and were able to sample the wine before we bought. Then after making our purchase, we went out side to enjoy our own picnic and were 50 yards away from anyone else. The quality of both the whites and reds were impressive. I particularly love the Cleve Red. It ranks up there as probably on the of the best in the state. The Gov. white is equally impressive. It is really with the trip out there!

What the what? When I first started going to wineries in VA many moons ago, this was one of the places. Recently while being there, the place feels really run down. The men's bathroom was destroyed. Seriously, it felt like the bathroom from Dan's Cafe in Adams Morgan, not a winery.nnAnother disappointing part was how they're serving now. Your tasting comes in the little round plastic cups with tops that are used for salad dressing cups at Whole Foods. I get the one use during this era, but most of the wineries are using glass - and simply washing.nnThat all said, the wines were decent. Perhaps this was an off Saturday.nnAlways feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz

Loved the live music and the beautiful sitting area outside. The wine was great but my favorite thing about this place was the cheese and the sangria. So delicious!
