Do NOT use this company if you can help it. My wife and I booked A Plus to do an out-of-state move and had trouble with them from beginning to end.nnFirst, they messed up the move date and contacted us 24 hours before a date we did not select. Apparently, there are separate companies that do the booking and the actual moving, and communication between them is poor.nnSecond, the move-out team was a bunch of guys that had been picked up from who-knows-where to do the job, and didn't work directly for the company. These guys were very unorganized and unprofessional, and kept looking through all of the belongings before moving them. On top of that, the company charged an extra $1000 on top of what they quoted, plus another $250 cash tip for this group of guys.nnAfter, the move out, I got a call at 10pm the night before Thanksgiving saying that the moving truck would arrive at the destination at 7:00am the next morning, and that I had to have the last $1200 payment in CASH on arrival. The two guys who arrived the following morning could barely drive the truck and ran over a tree backing into the drive. They also had no ramp or elevator on the truck to remove the larger items, so I had to jump in a few times lest they drop an armoire. To top it off, their truck died as they were leaving and neither guy could figure out what to do. I had to pull my car around and spend the next hour charging their battery so they could pull out. (This is all happening Thanksgiving day while I'm trying to prepare for family, mind you.)nnLastly, and this is the kicker, they seriously damaged my motorcycle in the move. They packed the motorcycle in the middle of the truck with heavy things piled on top. Major denting and scratches, and a broken clutch. Contacting the third party insurance was difficult and confusing, and I had to wait three months to hear back that the insurance would not be paying out on the claim because the moving company denied any damages, and that the two buffoons who unloaded it did not write down anything on the manifest.nnIn all, this company cost us an extra $3000 in costs and damages on top of what we were quoted, we extremely unhelpful and unprofessional, and I cannot warn people off this company fast enough. Beware A plus.

Please stay away from this “moving company” I contracted another company who apparently subcontracted with this company. First off, they doubled the remaining balance on my move without notice. They give no information as to when my move will be complete, it’s getting close to two weeks. They don’t act in good faith forcing me, and apparently many others; to seek legal remedies. Book at your own risk.

I was booked for A Plus Van Lines through Alliance Van Lines, so I can't speak much to their actual booking process. The agency under-quoted me, so I ended up spending 10%-15% more on the move than anticipated, but that was largely due to the booker quoting me the bare minimum for a move down the coast. I self packed, so I can't speak to that aspect of their business, but I will go into as much detail as possible to ease the mind.nnAgents on both the loading and unloading side were amazing. The team who moved me out of my apartment were careful with my stuff, wrapping furniture in blankets and specifically asking for cardboard to reinforce my glass cabinet. It took them less than an hour to load out my studio into the van, which was awesome. Even going over the loading contract again (with the price discrepancy) was explained in detail that made sense and was relatively painless. Picking up required a cashier's check, cash, or money order.nnMy stuff arrived 10 days after the move, which included a blizzard. Two people arrived in an eighteen wheeler and unloaded quickly. Of the items move only one box was damaged (which...it was a box that was hollow on top). Extremely professional and communicative, the only surprise was an additional charge for flights of stairs (since there was an elevator) but that was because I'm a bit dim. Dropping off was only a money order or cash, unless you call the office and get permission to do so.nnAs for customer service at the office....I called their number and got a voicemail? I never heard back from them. All in all professional and careful movers, and I would use them again (Except without a booker).

They did a great job. Very specialized, courteous and considerate. The movers were on time, friendly and extremely careful with my furniture. It was a very reasonable price and a job well done. Moreover they gave us valuable information regarding move. Would certainly recommend them!

Moved from NC to VA in March 2020. They moved our furniture to a local climate controlled storage until our house closed in August. 1 week after we closed our goods were delivered completely ruined from mold. I have tried to contact A Plus Van lines numerous times but received no call back response from email. I contacted their insurance handler and they told me that coverage extends only to moving and transportation, not storage. The damaged goods has been sitting in the garage since then. I called again today, Easter, using the same 888 number on the website, a mover from Denver answered the phone. They say they are not affiliated with A Plus but they bought out the 888 number. Looks like I lost out on everything and any recent consumer who used their services.
