Great weekend!! My kids chose the campsite by the river. And I spent waaaay too much at the souvenir shop. We shall return!!!

It's a very scenic ride, with well-trained horses and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Yokum's is a great place for a family trip, a date, or any other outdoors experience. I absolutely would recommend to anyone needing a day off from the norm.

The horses there seem to be in really good shape and feed well, the problem was there was no communication from the people who were running the show, there was a few first time riders there that I noticed and all they did was bring the horses out one at a time and try to pair up what they thought was a match in your size and shape, there was no explanation of where and what to expect on your Ride . There was no explanation of the horses personally or what to expect. During the ride that was very noticeable as the first time riders had no clue on what to do when certain horses with stubborn additudes did what they wanted and resulted in a very big separation of the group. Just ask questions if you don't know before your ride cause they certainly don't share any.

The bathroom reeked and was a huge mess. The light hardly worked, and I struggled for almost a full minute to get any water out of the grimy faucet. The horses seemed generally happy. I am concerned about the chunks of poop floating in their water and the green goop lining the troughs edges. I hope they don’t actually use that trough.nnThe whole ride ordeal could’ve been worlds better. For starters, it would’ve been helpful to tell us what to do and what not to do once we got on our horses. How about “pull on the reigns to get them to stop,” or instructions on how to steer. Not everyone knows how to ride a horse-some people are nervous or frightened! The trail was very rocky and my horse tripped so many times, as did everyone else’s in the group. Get used to your horse slipping suddenly. And also, the lack of instructions in the beginning-there was no actual guidance on the trail. Our guide hardly said a word to us. I had asked several questions throughout the ride, but he either didn’t hear me or just didn’t answer. At the very end of the ride, I had steered my horse to be right next to him. He looks at me and says, “pull on the reigns.”nOnly words I ever heard him spoke aside from telling me my horses name is Possum.nnI like Possum. He’s a spirited horse and we liked to pass people or block people from passing us. Pretty responsive to my commands, such a sweetheart. He’s the only reason this is two stars and not one.nnSo just keep these things in mind before coming here!!

The horses are very well taken care of, horses are well mannered and trained wonderfully. However this is by appointment only we were not aware of this upon arrival but we were very lucky today someone had gave us their reservations because their son was a little scared to go. The phone number on here isn’t a working phone number but If you drive by they have a number out on the sign to call.
