I met with Robert Warren of Detail Design and Remodeling - Kitchen Remodel to replace my aging kitchen. I was quoted a price for the job. The next time we met to discuss the job, the price of cabinets increased by six hundred dollars. That was the first alarm that I should have kept looking for an honest contractor. He assured me that work would be done professionally. I looked at his video on the internet. He was listed on TRUST DALE.com (I did not register on Trust dale.com website). He said the job would take four weeks. The job took eight weeks. I was left with one crew member to complete the job. He would come after 3:00 every day until he finished. Senior citizens should not have to endure this type of treatment from contractors. I will list some of the problems with their lack of details not to mention the excuses given for the shoddy (poor quality or inferior workmanship) work. Detail Design? you decide.n1.tThe crown molding miter cut was filled will wood putty (miter cuts should meet without cracks).n2.tThe crown molding separated from the ceiling and the miter joints.n3.tThe tile man did not run the tile up to the bottom of the cabinets. A plastic strip was used by a worker to fill the gap.n4.tThe tile man poured his leftover grout down my kitchen sink causing it to be clogged. I had to buy a snake and unclog the drainpipe.n5.tThere was no bull nose (end piece for the back splash tile) left by the crew. I bought ceramic strips from Color Tile for the crew member to install. The pictures show how the grout was not smooth and even.n6.tThe outside of the window frame was left unfinished. There was no wood stain applied.n7.tTape was left on the side of a cabinet causing the stained finish to come off with the tape.n8.tA screw head from the handle was broken off inside the cabinet door without being replaced.n9.tThe cabinet base molding was not finished.n10.tNo grout was used over the light switch.n11.tThe gas line had too many small joint connections causing a gas leak. I removed the pipes and sealed the joints.n12.tThe corner joint was improperly connected between the crown molding and cabinet.n13.tThe electrical outlet was not flush with the wall. The screws will not stabilize the outlet.n14.tThere are 29 cabinets with panel inserts. I have one loose panel. I was told that it is loose for change in weather to compensate for hot and cold temperatures. My question is why the other 28 panels are stable?n15.tI brought to their attention a warped cabinet door needs to be replaced.n16.tI purchased a clam shell baseboard from Randall Brothers because the baseboard purchased was too small. The original baseboard was trashed by a crew member.n17.tThe kitchen linoleum was cut by a crew member.

I really loved working with Detail Design. Robert’s design was perfect for our space. The two main contractors that did our work were Chance and Johnny. They were both polite and very good at their attention to detail. They really listened when I had concerns or wanted to make changes. I would definitely work with them again.

Everyone is very respectful and courteous! It is evident that Robert has been in the business for a long time and that secured my confidence in this company! Alex is very understanding and a pleasure to work with schedule wise! The team is very clean and professional! I appreciate everyone’s hard work!

Recently Robert and his team refaced our outdate kitchen cabinets and changed the lighting for an updated look. The results are fantastic and my wife and I are super pleased. Each time I called Robert he personally answered the phone, or he would call me back within 5 minutes. The crew showed up early, usually around 6:50 am and would patiently in their trucks until the arranged time of 7:00 am to ring the doorbell. For me this was a great example of customer service.nnWe have received compliment after compliment on the kitchen and we feel as if it's brand new. I would recommended Detail Design 100% to anyone thinking of doing a kitchen remodel. In fact, my wife are discussing making changes to our bathrooms and of course our only call will be to Detail Design.nnVic

The craftsmanship is amazing! I love the work with reclaimed lumber, the website shows an island made from reclaimed lumber with a quartz top. The ship lap on the kitchen walls is a nice touch too on that farmhouse kitchen! Very cool!
