We purchased a Kitchenaid package (fridge, Dishwasher and oven/microwave) from Best Buy in Dunwoody GA about 9 months ago and I want to share my story as a warning to other that may be looking for appliance through Best Buy. First there are 4 parties you will be working with Best Buy, Pacific sales the appliance company, an installation company and the appliance manufacture,(KitchenIAd). The sales process was easy and installation went well until about a month into ownership the oven stopped working properly. The lights on the inside started flickering and the oven wanted me to remove the meat probe that was not in the oven and would not pre heat. I went to the Best Buy store and talked to the appliance area who said I need to call a 1-800 number. I went home called the number and was told I needed to work through KitchenAid since it appeared as a defect in the appliance and Best Buy could not help. After calling Kitchen Aid I was told I needed to go back to the store and have there installer relook at the appliance. I went back to the store and was told they could not help me at all” I should have bought the warranty if I wanted there help” and that I needed to demand Kitchenaid come out. I have now called KitchenAId 4 times, and had to pay them 100 to come look at the oven. I finally agreed. The repairman came out and spent 5 minutes and said yep this is an installation error and you have to work through the store or buy a new unit. I went back to the Best Buy store now for the 7th time over 9 months. The appliance manager at the store decided that instead of helping me figure this out to lecture me on how appliance manufactures are terrible people and that they denied everything and that again since I didn’t buy a warranty this is my problem to figure out. I asked for his managers name and was told “I do not work for Best Buy and I am the highest person you are going to get” I then asked the manger on duty for the store for help, and was again told that the appliance sales are not part of Best Buy but he would have the head store manager call me. I have called back to the store 2 more times asking for the head manger he is never available and has never returned my calls. One of the employees in the appliance sales followed me to my car after the appliance manger told me he would not help and said “you are not being treated right here is a corporate number to call Best Buy and file a complaint” after calling I finally got a Best buy installer out who looked at the install and said yeah they did not ground the wires correctly and this is an installation error, and that they would submit it for a replacement. The next day I did get a call saying they were making an exception and will replace my oven since I am such a long term customer but normally they will not do this.nI have a new oven but the amount of time and frustration is something no one should have to go through. I cannot recommend enough never buy appliances from Best Buy.
