This is by far the worst county i have ever been taxed in! Due to the pandemic Me and my fiance have been out of work! And me and my fiance have been planning on paying the property tax when we get our tax return! And yes we are behind! But it has not even been a full month since we got the pink letter in the mail about being past due And we just received another letter in the mail today talking about If my fiance does not pay by the end of this month then they are going to take her to court! Me and my fiance is about to go To DMV and change a another county for jurisdiction! It has not even been a full 2 years since we've been here And already they're talking about court! This is by far the worst county in all of our life!

I haven’t lived in Fredrick county in 4 years and every year they send me a bill and I have to send them all the info to get it corrected. Crooks

No transparency. I received a tax bill for my two vehicles but I found that its mathematically wrong, as numbers don't add up. When I contacted them, they claim there was a late fee (which I don't agree anyway) but nothing was mentioned in the bill. I requested them another tax bill that mentions all the fees that mathematically add up, but they simply refused. The least they can do is being transparent as they work for us not the other way. BTW, the person I death with was very rude.

Will take your money and give you the runaround. I over payed my taxes and when I contacted them, I was told I would get a refund for the overpayment. After 3 phone calls and told after every one that I would receive my refund in about a week. I eventually found out that they took my refund and applied it to the next round of property taxes. Not a big deal, but the dishonesty and lack of communication is very unprofessional. What would happen if I did the same thing to the county? I believe it would end up in a wage garnishment

I love the online system where you can pay bills and get tax bills. Every time I have called the staff is super friendly!!! It's not always this pleasant with other Government agencies - thank you for making the extra effort!
