Autumn Care of Suffolk

This place was terrible to my father in law. His phone never worked. He was always dirty. They wouldn’t answer his call button or when he yelled for them. They let him dehydrate. And I saw his roommate also never get help with drink or food cause he couldn’t feed himself. Unfortunately they both passed within 3 days apart. All it would have took was a phone call.

Wish I could give this place -100% because it is. Such a lack of communication, neglect, etc. Wish I could tell all but too much to type. If you like to know more just look me up on fb. I’ll be glad to speak with you and I can give you many references. The ones that tell the truth.

Former employee here. Honestly working here for a little over 2 years as a PTA was not as bad as some of the reviews might suggest. Just like any job it has its ups and downs ,But generally I did enjoy my time working there alongside some of the hardest working, kindest, and caring staff members I have met to date. The staff really do have the best interest of the resident at heart and are diligent with communicating a patients progress towards returning home and/or accommodating and fulfilling the needs of the long term residents to the best of their ability.

People here are concerned about your well being and they are trying to help you, they are trying to help you enjoy your day and get better. Staff helped me when I couldn't help myself and gave me hope where there was none. April, CNA is fantastic, she knows how to talk to people, she is a people person. Therapy department is great, they are terrific. They showed me how to be safer so you can do things the right way.nThe food is not bad for a nursing home. The social worker is nice person she helps me out with what I'm looking for and if you have any complaints she will speak out for you.nWhere there was sadness and sorrow they brought me hope. They showed me what the bright side of life can be and I appreciate that.nThe administrator is full of compassion and empathy and the well being of the people who she is in charge of. She took time of her day to talk to me and help me.nI don't want to be in a nursing home but If I had to be in one this is a good place to be in.

I have, like many others I’m certain, heard many horror stories about managed care facilities and I must say that I likely fall into the camp of those who would rather not be in a situation where one has become necessary. However, as someone who is currently abroad, and whose Mother unexpectedly required the services of one, I was pleasantly surprised with the level of service my mother has been provided here at Autumn Care. I cannot speak specifically to the overall experience, however what I CAN say is that there is one Staff worker in particular who has done far more than I would have expected, in my admittedly dreary opinion on managed care, and most assuredly FAR MORE than her duties would require of her.nThe Social Worker JESSICA SCOTT has been a complete Godsend in terms of assisting to make my mother’s transition from her own independence to that of managed care a less jarring one. Jessica Scott has gone to great lengths to ensure that my Mother and I are able to be in contact, despite my being located in a completely different country and time zone. It’s so much of the small details and attention that have greatly shifted my thoughts on what to expect with my Mother being there.nnIn fact, upon meeting Jessica Scott for the first time via virtual communication, for the first few weeks I was most CERTAIN that she was in fact a medical nurse because of the level of commitment to my Mother’s care. It was only later on that I understood that she is a instead the on-site Social Worker! THAT is the level of attention and concern she presented!nnShe has taken great strides to assure both my Mother as well as my own levels of comfort and overall understanding of the process in general. While I have not been able to arrive there onsite, nor have I had much experience with any of the other staff there, I can say that if Jessica Scott - Social Worker is the standard of people employed at Autumn Care then I feel much more at ease that my Mother will be well taken Care of!
