Had a couples massage at the spa which was really nice, but the masseuses kept trying to have conversations, but I think they got that we weren't there to make conversation, but to relax. Everything else was very nice (lounges, gym, showers, etc). The only thing is the spa is expensive and they add 18% on to your bill and then they still ask for additional tip.

I am writing this review because my last experience with the Spa of Colonial Williamsburg was disappointing, and I do not want others to go through the same experience. I had a massage, and I have no complaints from that experience alone. Upon checking out, I presented a coupon that I received from CW resorts. I didn’t realize this at the time, but the wrong discount was applied. 12 hours after my appointment (well after working hours), I received an email noting that the wrong discount was applied, and the spa has already recharged me card for the correct (and greater) amount. I understand that the original transaction amount was incorrect. However, it is incredibly unprofessional to just recharge a credit card as you wish. I’ve never experienced this anywhere else, and I do not feel safe giving this place payment information. I will not go back, and I do not recommend.

I visited Colonial Williamsburg this past week and stayed at the Williamsburg Lodge. I was traveling with my mother who is legally blind and recently had an organ transplant, as well as my 87 year old grandmother. We decided to go to the pool in the spa, we followed the signs for the ADA entrance as my mother can’t walk down stairs, we got to the entrance, rang the doorbell and woman answered and asked us why we were there? We said to go to the pool. She said, “this is the handicap entrance.” I said we are handicapped she then explained how this is used for people in wheelchairs and how we must go to the front and have a person escort us in. Keep in mind the front is down several flights of stairs. How is my mother who is blind supposed to go down several flights of stairs to get someone to take her to the handicap door?? And why have signs pointing to a handicap entrance if it can’t be used?? That is a violation of the ADA, and a person can’t not be accused of not being handicapped just because they can walk with assistance. Horrible experience, but the pool and hotel were beautiful and other staff were absolutely helpful and wonderful!
