Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Gallup

I normally stay over at the Fairfield Inn in Albuquerque, and figured that this would be similar to that stay. Unfortunately I was wrong. The rooms were clean, but other than that I can’t say my short stay was enjoyable. I tried checking in around 1450, but apparently my room still wasn’t ready yet. Had to go for a room on the second floor, which being 8mos pregnant and with a dog was less than ideal. Tried for a late checkout in the morning at least, and was told immediately that there was nothing they could do, not even 30mins. So quickly went down to try and get the day started and get the free breakfast. I had to find the guy who should normally be serving breakfast. When I finally got his attention he asked what I wanted. I told him that I was gluten free, and at the other Fairfield they had some cereal options and at least hard boiled eggs. But apparently here it’s back to High school (for over $100/night) and you get a pre-made bag lunch. Filled with things I couldn’t eat expect for the piece of fruit. While I’ve loved my stays at other Fairfield Inns since I’ve been out travel nursing for the DOD, this is a place I will never stay at again. The customer service was just completely lacking, as if there was simply nothing they could do to help with any situation.

This hotel was great! The gal at the front desk was amazing and we got a king suite for the night. The room was clean, the hotel was nice, the bed was comfortable, and the linens and towels were of high-quality. They had a pretty typical grab and go breakfast because of Covid.

Pet owners beware! $60 PER PET. Stay somewhere else and get your pets their own rooms. This is disgusting and very miss leading by Marriott that says pet friendly. That’s pet robbery. Nice new property but very frustrating to find out after a long drive.

Hotel rooms are extremely comfortable and large. Hotel appears to be newer and is maintained well. Friendly people working and great experience.

Good and clean but not near any restaurants. Liked the gym. Shower food too. Walks are thin, could hear a lot of neighbors in the early morning. Also alarm clock went off early that I did not set, not a big issue, though makes me question how well sanitized the room really was?
