Nice guy, great teacher. I've been taking lessons from Art for about a year and a half now and I think I've improved pretty quickly. Not only has taking lessons helped me with learning to play the banjo, but it has also helped me improve my skills with other instruments as well. The trombone and the banjo seem like they wouldn't have much in common, but I guess music is universal. I believe I have better rhythm and am better able to hear cord changes when playing with my school band. (great pricing too)
Excellent Music and Banjo Teacher. Art Hansen is excellent on the Banjo. He has performed and taught for many years. Wonderful Banjo Performer and Teacher. I recommend him to all that are beginning or intermediate on the Banjo. Even those that are Advanced can benefit from learning from the Pro! :)
Art's banjo instruction has taken me to the next level. I really appreciate his patience, good playing, and teaching style. I also bought a mandolin from him at a very reasonable price. I am very happy to have found Art!
I've taken banjo lessons from Art for several years. He's fun, knowledgeable, and very patient. Art reacts to any struggle that I may encounter and tailors my lessons around it, making it much more satisfying to learn. I've also purchased 3 banjos from him over the past 5 years. His prices are great, and he strives to offer the best banjos for the buck. Each banjo always comes set up and in tune so I can start playing them immediately!
My son has been taking banjo lessons from Art for 5 years. He has progressed steadily and shows no signs of slowing down. I'd say Art can teach anyone of any age...even my left-handed son has learned on a right-handed banjo. He definitely knows his stuff!
