I was in the area and stopped in to revisit a special place from my past. I worked for the Monongahela Railway that had a headquarters across the road from the store. We always went across the street to eat lunch when we were in the area. I was saddened to hear that Fred had passed a few years before, but happy that Richard was carrying on the business as well as the spirit of the store that I remembered so well. I left with a package of sausage that I made for breakfast a few days later. It was as good as I remembered and although I live over 70 miles away, I will find a reason to go back often. Thank you Richard for taking the time to talk to me for a while ( it was closing time) and reinforcing my belief that being a gentleman and treating people right are truly something that is passed on from generation to generation !!
Great little place tucked back from the main road, their sausage is the best I've had in the tri-state area and they have other sundries and hard to find items.
Great people. The best sausage, meats around. If you haven't been there, go.
