The service was good but messed up our orders

Party of 4 at supper time. Drinks came fine. The waitress did not listen to requests, no corn bread, but biscuits and one order of darkly toasted sour dough bread. Toast did not come with other bread. When it did come it was greasy through-and-through. Entrees on two meals were bad--meatloaf cold, pot roast tough and old gravy that had skin in it. The Sunday chicken pieces were superb, the chicken dumplings were as well. All sides were fresh and hot except the steak fries that were old, tough, and grease-soaked. The two horrible meals were comped, but service and food were not up to the usual Cracker Barrel quality.

Reasonably priced and always pretty good breakfast. For the price and the quality offered it's well worth the visit. Always the same thing no matter where you visit them. The service in Martinsburg has always been pretty good too, never really had any issues.

Lunch menu, food was the worse I ever had at a Cracker Barrel. The mashed potatoes and gravy had a skim over the gravy because it had been sitting so long. The meatloaf was lukewarm at best. The cornbread was hard as a rock. The only thing worth eating were the biscuits and the sweet potato that I had. I was very disappointed.

We don't have a Cracker Barrel where I live so when we came to West Virginia we had to stop. I always love looking in the shop.nI have not been here to eat much growing up so I didn't know what to order. I've always wanted to try catfish so that was what I went with, my boyfriend got the cheeseburger. We were so impressed by how patient and friendly our waitress was! Nicki was extremely kind, she recommended things and gave us the options we needed. I wasn't sure if I would like grilled or fried catfish so Nicki gave me one of each.nI was also impressed that with a burger, an entree, and a desert that the bill came out to only $30.nWe will most definitely be back, and I will most definitely be getting fried catfish again!nThank you Nicki for making this an amazing experience!❤
