I had an appointment with the Travel Passport Renewal of the Russian Consulate in Houston. It was pleasant experience. The people who are working there are exceptional - fast, kind, and welcoming. The appointment took me less than 15 minutes. Thank you for providing flawless service!

I applied for my Russian passport renewal last September 2020. In January 2021 somebody from consulate called me and asked if I ever had a my new passport. I could see it in a system that passport was ready in mid December, but had never been delivered to me. I was thinking that USPS overwhelmed with Christmas deliveries, or consulate didn't send it yet because Russian holidays, but I was wrong. Usps lost my passport. So, their employee called me and told me this bad news. I understand that it is not their fault neither is mine. So, their employee told me that they are going to send another application for passport, and it would take like couple months. Now is mid of March 2021, and I still don't have my passport. The worst part is that so hard to communicate with consulate. I have no idea what is going on with my passport, and when I finally go to Russia. I'm stuck here, and I cannot go anywhere without passport. I sent so many emails to consulate, but they answers are to short with no information. Couple months ago for my emails they replied that application sent and the trucking number they will send me later. after a while I contacted them again, they gave me application number,. I tried to track it, but it didn't work. I sent them email again, they said will give tracking number later. Now is middle of march and I have no idea what is going on. So it is already 6 months since I applied for my passport, and I still don't have it. Also, I'm in california, so I had to fly to Texas, spent extra money for the trip to get my passport, but never get it. It would be nice if employees of consulate would be more informative for people who need help. I feel I'm battling this way alone with no information. It is insane that I'm Russian citizen and cannot go to my country, and even cannot have any information about my situation. I give two stars just because the process of applying was easy, and lady who took my passport was so nice, besides that zero starts.

Much better service than US Consulates in foreign countries. Very helpful and friendly. Delayed myVisa by 3 months by not providing complete information. They kept saying I had to get an invitation from Russia when my wife could have done the invitation in Houston

First time I sent an email and the answer was very short and I would say rude. The next time I sent an email they never answered. I hope they will improve their service

I can tell from my personal experience that this is the best Russian consulate abroad. They are extremely helpful and nice. They always (!) respond emails within 1-2 business days.
